Erica has almost 20 years of experience representing injured workers, employers, and insurance companies for workplace injuries. She has litigated numerous matters before the Georgia State Board of Workers’ Compensation and presented several oral arguments to the Appellate Division of the State Board and Georgia Superior Courts. Erica has represented a wide variety of individual and Fortune500 clients in the construction, temporary agency, restaurant, transportation/trucking, national retail, airline, and healthcare industries. Before joining the firm, Erica was a partner in a mid-sized defense firm and served as Lead Counsel for the largest claimant’s workers’ compensation practice in Georgia. Additionally, she is a certified civil mediator and is licensed to practice in Georgia and California.
Erica was raised in St. Louis, Missouri, before moving to Atlanta, where she graduated from Stone Mountain High School. She attended Boston University for one year and returned to Atlanta, where she graduated summa cum laude from Georgia State University with a B.A. in Journalism and Philosophy. She worked for the Fulton County Board of Commissioners before attending Emory University School of Law on a full scholarship. While at Emory, Erica was a member of the Moot Court Society, Community Service Chair of the Black Law Students Association, and interned at the Barton Child Law and Policy Clinic, where she presented research on human trafficking at a Georgia legislative hearing.
